The son of an army paratrooper and a classically trained pianist, Jack O’Neill grew up in army towns across the American south before finally finding his home in NYC. A co-founding member of the Texas band Jackopierce he has recorded and shared stages with T-Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrisette, Butch Walker, Jack Ingram and countless others.“North Star”- his upcoming second solo album release - grapples with a familiar theme: how we get further from and somehow closer to all the places we come from. Cinematic and sparse, part bedroom confessional and indie-rock attitude, sharp and literate, with equal shades of humor and pathos, these are stories about good people doing our best in a turbulent world.
